Forget staying in this January – with 2016 set to be the year of Monica Galetti (who’s is preparing to open her very own restaurant, Mere), no self-respecting food lover will want to miss out on anything this girl has in store. This month, the tour de force chef – formerly Michel Roux’s right-hand woman at Le Gavroche – has devised a limited-edition seasonal menu for Searcy’s The Gherkin.
Usually only open to members, the menu will be available to diners at both lunch (£45/3 courses) and dinner (£55/3 courses) from 8 January until 12 February. It will feature temptingly wintry dishes, from black curry scallops and short rib of beef with savoury pumpkin tart, to her signature Jamaican-inspired dessert, ginger and Guinness float.
