Soho’s Polpo Campari bar is playing host to a series of wine tasting evenings that will introduce wine lovers to some of Italy’s lesser-known wines.

Explore Italian wines by region, sample bottles that can sell for between £40-£100, become acquainted with some of the country’s more weird and wonderful pours, or find out about specific grape varieties, such as Lagrein.

The Enoclub events take place on a monthly basis, starting at 7pm. Ticket prices start from £40.

The schedule is as follows:
26 April: Veneto and Trentino, £40
Enjoy a Prosecco aperitivo at this popular wine tasting, then discover a variety of wines from Trentino and Valpolicella.
24 May: Alto Adige (Sud-Tirol), £40
Tour the distinctive wines of this region, from those made with the Lagrein grape, to Gewürztraminer and arguably Italy’s best Pinot Noir.
21 June: Friuli, £40
Traditionally known for its white wine, this region of Italy produces excellent Merlot, which is well worth trying.
19 July: Veneto and Trentino, £40

Learn about Italy’s oldest wine region, with particular emphasis on Nebbiolo (the grape used to make Barbaresco and Barolo).
25 October: Wine, weird and wonderful, £55
This evening will showcase extremely rare and distinctive wines from northern Italy.
