Nottinghamshire may not have had a trophy-laden history but it has enjoyed recent success and many a great player has represented the East Midlands county. England pace bowler Harold Larwood tormented the Australians in the 1930s and, in West Indies all-rounder Garfield Sobers, Nottinghamshire attracted one of the game's best overseas players in the 1960s. Trent Bridge, as the name suggests, sits on the banks of the Trent and is not only home to Nottinghamshire, but also regularly hosts England Test matches, despite its relatively low capacity. The attractive, traditionally styled venue holds about 15,000 spectators.
