Situated in south-east London, Charlton have refreshingly prided themselves on being a family-friendly club with strong links in the community, especially since the club was rescued from the brink of collapse in the mid-1980s. The Valley, the club's home since 1919, was impressively renovated in 1992 and the modern stadium is set for further expansion and improvement. Though their history has not been filled with great successes, the Addicks have won a reputation for being well run both on and off the pitch in recent years.
