Hands up who’s shouted answers at the TV during Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, convinced they could do a lot better than the contestants. Pretty much everyone, right? Well, here’s your chance to try the real thing. Celador International is allowing corporate clients to hire the actual Millionaire studio – or have a replica set transported anywhere in the UK – to stage their own game shows. It comes complete with music, lights and a professional host.

Among the first to try the new concept were the 200 Data Select sales agents who took part in a promotional event at Elstree Studios. Having all competed in the ‘Fastest Finger First’ round for a chance to sit in the hotseat opposite Chris Tarrant, a spellbound audience watched in amazement as a single person picked up £125,000 of the day’s total of £147,000 winnings. The combination of the familiar lights and music – in their original setting with a possible million-pound prize – meant even the most jaded souls got caught up in the excitement. The event proved an amazing experience even for those who didn’t win.

‘It was a fantastic climax to what we believe is the biggest ever promotion undertaken in our industry. ‘The carrot of potentially huge cash prizes was of course a major lure, but absolutely everyone who came along enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere of being in the real TV studio,’ said Eric White, the marketing director of Data Select’s parent company, Phones International Group.
