Teambuilding Feature - Winning Wines

Best known as the corporate event market's premier wine tasting outfit Taste of the Vine have a range of teambuilding products in its protfolio including the refreshingly fun City Wine Trail Challenge? During the event, in which fine vintages play leading roles, participants go on a fast-paced treasure hunt involving cryptic conundrums, team tasks, wine questions and sightseeing.

Using a wine tasting guide (and collective alcoholic knowledge), teams identify mystery bottles and complete photo tasks with a Polaroid camera, which can also be used to take pictures of cheating opponents. While performing their given tasks, the teams can also gain points by filming a documentary, the results of which are screened at the end destination over some well-earned Champagne.

Angela Peebles, the communications and events coordinator at Shell International Oil Products, used the Wine Trail Challenge to pull together 70 people from different departments during a conference. She says: ‘Taste of the Vine was excellent, a truly professional outfit. Our teams loved the various challenges and thanks also to the personalities and banter of the organisers, the event was a huge success.’

The challenge is available in London, Paris, Lisbon, Bordeaux, Reims, Brussels, Prague and Edinburgh, with each city adding character to the events. In Prague, for instance, trails are set in the bustling old town, where stunning landmarks such as Prague Cathedral and the Charles Bridge provide backdrop to an event enhanced by teams discovering smugglers’ tunnels and bohemian beer halls.
