A star of street-food markets from Brockley to Broadgate, Hix’s Fish Dog can now be the talking point of private events. Served out the back of a 1971 Citroen H van, the Fish Dog is Mark Hix’s take on the timeless fish finger sandwich. All we can say is it involves local pollock, minted mushy peas and, of course, tartare sauce. But the menu runs a little longer than that: punters must also choose between Holy-Fucked fish balls and cups of Cornish fish soup. That’s before they even think about drinks (Fentiman’s, mainly) and a couple of seasonal desserts – doughnuts with sea salted caramel sauce anyone?
