The Thomas Cubitt | The Thomas Cubitt, Belgravia, London

Recently I went to a lovely looking pub called The Thomas Cubitt in Belgravia, London. It's a sister pub to The Orange, which I like for the friendly atmosphere and consistently great food I've had there. I had high hopes for The Thomas Cubitt because I've always loved The Orange...

Byron Wellington Street | Byron Burgers (All Over Town!)

A few months ago if you had of asked me what I thought of Byron burgers I would have shrugged my shoulders and muttered something along the lines of ''yeah they're pretty good''. My indifference stemmed from my last visit when I asked for an extra BBQ sauce (as you do) and the guy gawked at me and said ''woah, steady, you definitely shouldn't be eating two of those''...

    Bubbledogs | Bubbledogs, London

Last week I conveniently arranged a 4pm meeting in town, and when it finished I hotfooted my way over to Charlotte Street to get in the queue for Bubbledogs, a newish hot dog and champagne bar causing a bit of a stir in London. I got there at 5.15pm and was about 14th in the queue...for a 35 cover restaurant I was relieved that I would be one of the first batches through the doors. This queuing malarkey gets my goat. Bubbledogs is cosy and surprisingly small inside, barebrick walls, soft lighting and cute illustrations on the walls...

    Ben's Canteen Battersea | Ben

Since starting Burgers and Bruce a few months back I have become quite aware that most of the burgers on here are of a pretty high standard. It's not because I've only eaten bad burgers - the thing is, for me, bad burger reviews are SO much harder to write up because I just don't have that excitement behind it. Difficult as it may be, I feel I should post about the average burgers, even if it's a short "god this burger really did not do it for me"...

Cask Pub & Kitchen | Forty Burgers at Cask, Pimlico, London

The only bad thing about these burgers is their proximity to where I live. I'm about to get very fat indeed. Last night I went down to my local pub, Cask, to check out their new burger residency Forty Burgers. I'm really in two minds about writing this post. On the one hand I want to shout about the burgers to every burger lover in the world, on the other hand, the burgers are so good that I'm scared that every tom, dick and harry will go down there, and I will never be able to get a seat. But alas, I have a burger blog, and to eat a brilliant burger and not write about it would probably go against the whole philosophy. So here it is...
