Last night saw the Concerto Group add yet another iconic events space to its empire, with the launch of OXO2 on the South Bank. Formed as a joint venture between the industry giants and Coin Street Community Builders, the venue has been transformed to accommodate conferences, dinners of around 100 and receptions for up to 400 guests. More than 300 agents and corporate buyers enjoyed flavoursome spring season-inspired canapés and zesty cocktails, courtesy of preferred caterers Create Food and Party Design. Miniature tartlets of caramelised onion, feta and oven roasted cherry tomato; the verrine of seared trout nicoise and steak tartare with horseradish crème fraiche all proved particularly popular. Subtle column lighting complemented the venue’s pared-back interior and stunning vista across the Thames, while the adjacent balcony provided a haven for guests to soak up some spring evening warmth.
Jérôme Ponchelle, head chef at The Capital, has just launched a menu to celebrate the hotel’s 40th birthday. It will feature the restaurant’s favourite dishes from the last four decades, with input from The Capital’s previous head chef, Brian Turner. The menu is priced at £70 per person and available in the light-and-airy, 25-seater Cadogan Suite, as well as the two smaller private rooms, hosting 14 and 10 respectively. Check out the menu
The rapidly expanding Grand Union chain have just launched a sprawling bar, just around the corner from Edgware Road station. It can hold up to 400 for receptions, with extra space outside by the canals of Paddington Basin if things get too sweaty. Menus major on towering burgers and well-turned-out pub staples, and there's a late licence where DJs pump out funk, soul and indie hits into the wee small hours. Call 020 7723 5106 to book.

Tuesday night saw the launch party for Pontoon, a luxury yacht moored at St Katharine Dock that’s going to double as an exclusive events venue for the summer. Guests sipped on Pommery Champagne & grazed on canapés including grapes in goats’ cheese & pistachio while a jazz quartet provided the tunes. Pontoon can be booked for events till September & can pipe aboard up to 60 guests (10 of whom can sleep on the boat).
