After a million-pound refurbishment, the historic King’s Fund in the heart of the West End has emerged with nine gleaming new rooms. Kitted out with all the latest AV technology, the spaces have been lovingly restored to the Grade-II listed building’s trademark Georgian grandeur. With high ceilings and unimpaired sight lines, they work perfectly for large theatre-style conferences and presentations.
Following a £250,000 investment by Sodexo Prestige, the event space on HMS Belfast – one of the most powerful light cruisers ever built – is now looking shipshape. The splendid Admiral’s Quarters and the 100-capacity Ante Rooms have been refurbished, restoring a sense of history to the rooms and installing the latest technology. Book a party and you’ll be piped onboard in traditional naval style and be given a guided tour by an HMS Belfast veteran, who will regale you with seafaring tales and (suitably salty) anecdotes.
For a delicious working lunch that won’t break the budget, the crowd-pleasing sandwich chain Subway has just launched an online delivery service. Each platter of its trademark subs costs £18 and feeds between six and eight people. Four mixed options include a Meat Feast, Vegetarian and low-cal Lite variety and extras such as cookies, muffins, crisps and drinks are also available with free delivery for orders over £25.
Fans of etc.venues’ London events’ space, Dexter House will be excited to learn that the company has added a specialist conference and exhibition floor to the venue which now encompasses three floors. The new space offers complete exclusivity for conferences for up-to 300 delegates plus an integrated exhibition area for up to 25 stands featuring the abundant daylight, stunning views and high quality catering that organisers have come to appreciate from this versatile space.
Hundreds of you turned out last night for our first reader event of the decade, this time held at the City’s One Moorgate Place. The recently rebranded venue – previously known as Chartered Accountants Hall – took on a Janurary ‘Detox/Retox’ theme. Guests began by sampling virtuous canapés and sushi, before heading down to the all-new One Moorgate Place Restaurant for devilish desserts, cheese and cocktails.
