The full list of nominations for the Orange British Academy Film Awards 2009 have been announced by Gemma Arterton and Hayley Atwell at 195 Piccadilly - BAFTA, with Kate Winslet (fresh from her two Golden Globes) nominated twice in the Leading Actress category, alongside fellow Brit Kristin Scott Thomas. Mayor Boris Johnson (pictured here with Square Meal’s Annica Wainwright, Laura Dickinson and Julia Phelps) has officially opened Forman’s Fish Island (tel: 020 8525 2399), a brand new event venue with unobstructed views of the 2012 Olympic Stadium. The salmon-shaped building is home to Britain’s oldest salmon smoker and houses two sizeable event spaces (accommodating 200 and 600 guests respectively) alongside a 40-cover restaurant, extensive kitchens and the smokehouse itself.

InterContinental Hotels Group has opened the first European outpost of its boutique brand, Hotel Indigo, in Paddington (tel: 020 7835 2000) and plans to open three more London hotels by 2012, marking the start of an international rollout for the North America brand. Meeting facilities are minimal but the hotel is well-priced and convenient for clients arriving on the Heathrow Express. It also boasts the world's largest hanging basket!
