Red Carnation's luxury five-star Geneva property, Hotel d'Angleterre (tel: 00 41 22 906 5555) has flown in five chefs from Tamarind for a three-week Indian dining extravaganza in the hotel's Windows Restaurant. The good news is that the Tamarind team will also cater for private events at the hotel on request until 15 August.

Did you know there are actually eight Madame Tussauds around the world, the latest being Madame Tussauds Hollywood (tel: 001 323 467 8277) which opened earlier this month. It’s naturally a star-studded affair, with 30,000sq ft of event space filled with 18 themed rooms such as the Hollywood A-List Party Room (spot Brangelina, Jennifer Lopez and Elton John) and the Hollywood Action Heroes Room (featuring a lifelike Daniel Craig). Capacities run from 50 to 1,200 and there's a fantastic rooftop terrace holding 400.
