The All New Fairmont Monte-Carlo
Stretched along 2.5 miles of sparkling Mediterranean coastline, Monaco has sea views to die for. And the hottest place to enjoy them is L’Horizon, the new rooftop deck, restaurant and Champagne bar that completes a top-to-toe overhaul of the Fairmont Monte-Carlo (tel: 00 377 93 50 65 00). As well as a remodelled pool and elegant terrace, there’s a breezy 80-cover restaurant and a private 40-capacity lounge. Glass panels slide back in summer so guests can soak up the sea air.
New Golf Course at The Residence Tunis
The exotic north African destination of Tunisia touts itself as one of the world’s top golf destinations. The Residence Tunis (tel: 00 216 71910 101) has just launched a 72-par 18-holer with a wonderful location between a shimmering salt lake and the Mediterranean sea. Beginners needn’t worry as there’s a practice area with an 80 bay driving range, two putting greens, two pitching greens and two practice bunkers. Golf widows or widowers can enjoy a 30-treatment-room-strong spa and meetings can be held in any of the hotel’s six dedicated rooms.
