Vilnius Capital of Culture 2009

As Liverpool steps down, Vilnius steps up to become one of the European Capitals of Culture for 2009. We visited in 2008 and found Lithuania's capital boasts a creative influence which is spreading into groundbreaking incentive and conference offerings. With direct (and cheap) flights from Gatwick via FlyLAL (not to mention providing the backdrop for Daniel Craig's latest flick, Defiance), Vilnius should feature firmly on any event organiser's radar this year.
