This spring it was no easy task to pick a winner. The last six months have presented many impressive openings – Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, Dehesa , The Landau and Sake No Hana, to name but a few – but we felt that L'Autre Pied had the edge.
Though less formal than its older sibling, two-Michelin-starred Pied a Terre, it bears all the hallmarks of a great restaurant. The surroundings are elegant, the service strikes a fine balance between professionalism and informality, and the modern European food – the work of young talent Marcus Eaves – is finely wrought, cleverly presented and combines taste and texture with real skill. What’s more, there’s a smashing little wine list.
It’s a pleasure to find a restaurant that offers all this with such finesse. Our congratulations go to co-owners David Moore, Shane Osborn and Marcus Eaves, and the entire team at L’Autre Pied.
