Once a wide-boys’ hangout, the Manor Arms has stripped away all vestiges of 70s dodginess to reveal an appealing mix of 1930s oak panelling, bow windows, original tiling & other architectural
plus points. A pewter-clad oak bar maintains the pub’s boozy reputation, with a fine choice of real ales (Adnams Regatta, Doom Bar, Meantime London Pale Ale), a handy selection of workaday wines
& some classic cocktails, but the vast opened-up interior is now dominated by an on-view kitchen. Check out the display of inventive seasonal salads (perhaps asparagus, samphire & Jersey
Royals with shallot dressing), or dip into the main menu for mainstream Brit offerings such as Cornish crab on toast, should of lamb with marrow & carrots or mixed berry posset with shortbread.
