SquareMeal Review of Little Bay Kilburn

A godsend for couples embarking on their first jobs, the Little Bay restaurants – there’s a branch in Croydon too – offer romantic settings and serviceable bistro food without the passion-killing prices. The Kilburn restaurant is actually located between Maida Vale and West Hampstead, where low prices, cosy booths, crimson interiors and candle-topped wine bottles (down which the obligatory wax cascades) have been attracting the area’s smoochers for 25 years. Choose a set menu or early-evening deal and it’s possible to have three courses of French-accented cooking for around a tenner. But the à la carte will scarcely break the bank, containing the likes of profiteroles stuffed with spicy crab meat, followed by magret of duck, or grilled vegetables with feta before organic salmon fillet with basil and lime sauce. Desserts such as white chocolate and pistachio parfait, and house wine at under £15 a bottle, also keep punters sweet.

Excellent restaurant near Maida Vale
I've been in London for over 21 years, and I've visited a number of restaurants in my time. But none can top the Little Bay group of restaurants. I've visited them all: the Kilburn restaurant near Maida Vale, the Farringdon restaurant near Kings Cross, the Croydon restaurant near South Croydon and the Brighton restaurant on the seafront. My regular is the West Hampstead/Kilburn one. The staff are so friendly and polite there and the place is always packed. The food is really tasty and the portions are enormous, yet the prices are unbelievably cheap (that's something most people are surprised about). Unfortunately, whilst most of the Little Bay restaurants have opera entertainment, this particular restaurant doesn't. For the opera, I tend to visit the restaurant on Farringdon Road in Clerkenwell where this crazy guy, Alan, serenades the customers with opera classics. The Farringdon restaurants near St Pancras station and Kings Cross station so it is really easy to get to. Plus, the restaurants near Sadler's Wells and the British Museum so it a great stop-off place for a Pre Theatre dinner or late evening meal. I personally think the Little Bay restaurants are the best restaurants in London.
