Right next door to the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh’s West End, Zucca naturally plays to the show crowds with plenty of fixed-price deals before and after the show. There’s a distinct theatrical
theme to the interior, with the restaurant occupying a mezzanine space, while the menu proffers trattoria classics of the old school. Home-smoked salmon with new potato salad is a popular starter,
alongside carpaccio of beef and plates of char-grilled vegetables, while mains might bring fettuccine with wild mushrooms, whole roasted plaice with broccoli, lemon and capers or rib-eye of beef
with vine tomatoes. After that, vanilla pannacotta with stewed rhubarb should fit the bill. The street-level caffè is open all day from 11am, and the entire venue has extended all-week hours during
the Festival season.
