About

Overlooking the River Thames – and with an outdoor terrace views of Tower Bridge and all the city’s big sky scrapers – Browns remains a great place to go for hearty British fusion food in a relaxed and stylish environment.

With all-day dining available, and a bar serving a host of cocktails from the classics to Browns signature and seasonal creations, this restaurant is ideal for work lunches and chilled-out dinners alike.

Serving a host of British classics mixed with international influences, you are bound to find something to impress. When it comes to brunch, Browns keeps it simple. The usual suspects of eggs benedict, royale and florentine are all on offer, as well as your traditional full English and the slightly more adventurous smoked pancetta buttermilk pancakes.

For dinner, you’ll see the classic brasserie favourites such as duck liver parfait and pan-seared scallops. And when it comes to mains, you really are spoiled for choice. For a British classic, try the steak and Guinness pie or herb-crusted rack of lamb and hotpot. If you feel like eating Italian, the lobster risotto, or the prawn and crab linguine will hit the spot. Lastly, if it’s Indian you’re after, the coronation cauliflower curry is a great option.

Now, you can’t have dinner without dessert (well you can but why would you?) there is lots to choose from. If you like your hearty, heavy puddings, the sticky toffee pudding, apple and apricot crumble and the home-baked chocolate brownie will all satisfy your sweet tooth. If you want to keep things on the simple side, the restaurant has a wide range of ice creams.

If you’re in a hurry and can’t quite squeeze in a full three-course dinner, then pop in for a drink at the bar and watch the mixologists whip up one of its exciting cocktail creations.

Had an excellent Office Christmas celebration at this restaurant. They served 140 of us with superb food, great service and were very helpful with anything we asked for. The Manager, was on hand at all times whilst I was planning the meal and was happy to accommodate rearranging his restaurant to suit us. Excellent service and food.

We booked Brown’s Butlers Wharf for a special birthday celebration for 15 people. They advertise that they can cope with large parties. They cannot. The service was incredibly slow at every stage of the meal. The starters turned up about 40 minutes after the food order was taken and although we sat down at eight o’clock the main meals eventually arrived at around ten o’clock. The meals did not arrive together and some of the sides were cold before some the mains came to join them. When the food did arrive it was very poor quality with the pasta being inedible and the filo tart being tepid at best. The most complimentary thing said about any of the food was “I enjoyed the bits that weren’t burnt”. We complained and were offered a free drink which in no way made up for the disastrous service and food.

came with a client, last minute, oh well we all make mistakes! dark and souless dinning room, we were seated in one of the darkest depths of the restaurant, we shared a fish platter to start and to be fair was very nice and for £15 was pretty good value, my client had a fish and chips , i had steak, why they came 10 mins apart i have no idea, trying to get hold of staff was like trying to raise the dead (it cant really be done)! not good there, trying to gt the bill was also traumatic , i think it was around 15 minutes or so…, the waitress looked at me as though i was from mars when i refused to leave a tip, sorry love, you have to earn that, no such thing as a free lunch!! this is the kind of place you go as a last resort, so if the que is to long at mcdonalds come here!!
