Occupying premises that were once home to Bella Mbriana, Locanda de Gusti maintains the Italian theme – although it adds some sharp, modern bistro decor for good measure. At lunchtime, bargain hunters should be well satisfied with skilfully executed dishes such as spinach & ricotta ravioli in butter & sage or salmon cooked with olive oil, garlic, herbs, cherry tomatoes & white wine. In the evening, the kitchen flexes its muscles for more ambitious offerings ranging from a dish involving strips of mozzarella, rocket & pan-seared mango with honey & chilli to swordfish with honey-roasted ham & smoked cheese or stuffed red pepper with butternut squash sauce.
